Theatre doesn't have to happen in a theatre. On Ping'an Dadao Studio is launching a series of site-specific interventions across urban street corners, bookstores, cafés, and architectural pockets. 2026年，我在湖南茶陵老家的一处200平米一层临街门脸房招租不畅。以“如何把这个门脸租出去”这一现实问题作为原点，我开始了对门脸房方圆两百米（半径100米）范围内街道生态与人群组成的研究。 通过持续记录周边居民的年龄构成、沿街商铺业态、流动摊贩出现的时间节点、快递驿站的人流密度，以及当地小超市和便利店背面普遍经营麻将牌桌的现象，我将剧场的空间构作与视线机制引入日常街区——把这间闲置门脸房视为一个观察空间可见性、身体聚集条件与基层非正式社会关系的田野现场。

In 2026, a 200-square-meter street-level storefront in my hometown of Chaling, Hunan, remained long vacant. Taking the practical question of "how to rent this storefront out" as a point of departure, I initiated a field study examining the street ecology and demographic makeup within a 100-meter radius of the property. By documenting the age structure of nearby residents, the commercial composition of local shops, the schedules of mobile vendors, foot traffic at parcel pickup hubs, and the widespread phenomenon of convenience stores operating mahjong and card tables in their backrooms, I bring a scenographic lens into the everyday neighborhood—treating the vacant storefront as a living field to investigate spatial visibility, the mechanisms of bodily gathering, and informal social relations.
